New Year – New Schedule – New Content

I trust everyone’s New Years celebration went well.

OK! Back to the grindstone. I will be posting a new schedule of the meetings on the Meetings page and as always you can look up the meetings on the calendar page.

The “Up Next” column, at right here, will give you a quick look at what events are approaching, with the closest event on top. Without having to go to the calendar. How convenient is that?

I am looking into smart phone and tablet formats of the site so that you can… well… view the site on your smart phone or tablet. Why the H*!! would I want to see the UPA 29 site on my phone? Good question. I am also working on a web app that will be a pool volume calculator. Not just a cookie cutter ((L x W) x average D) x 7.48 = aprox gallons. Yes, that will be an option, but there will also be an option of using a calculator based on onBalance’s formulas. These are formulas that use chemical level changes in the water to determine the pools volume. Very accurate. Well, very accurate if you are using a digital tester. I hope to make it look like you are using an app right on your phone/tablet.

Mostly fun for me and hopefully useful for some of you.

Up Next!

AEC v1.0.2

Western Pool & Spa Show

When, I was checking out the dates and times of the show, I was surprised by their site. It is well done. There is interaction with the Renaissance Hotel which applies the show discount when making reservations. You may register for the show online, contact numbers and email addresses are clearly available and the site is easy to navigate. I have to say; the part of the site I find the most intriguing is the “Virtual Show” link. It is an interactive web application (web app), that lets you look up a vendor in the drop down list, select that vendor and see the booth location, highlighted by a circle on the floor map. Then, so you don’t have to zoom in the map for reading and zoom out for navigation; you can stay zoomed out and just hover over a booth and a jazzy popup tells you the vendor name. Too Cooooool!

Can you tell I am a pool swab with a love of tech?

I am always looking for ways to make this site more enjoyable to visit.

Quick Note
Please Register with the site and RSVP to the Chapter monthly meetings. It will let me know if I am having breakfast with the reps by myself. LOL the reps are better at attending than the members!!!! Seriously… It will get you access to evolving content not visible to non members.
